WISDOM Precedent
WISDOM Precedent is a Document Automation System with a difference!
It runs in Microsoft® Word® and uses Microsoft
SharePoint® web technology to retrieve data from intranets, extranets and existing databases.
The result is an automated document generation system that is easy to use,
readily maintainable and very efficient in operation.
The
name WISDOM Precedent reflects the origin of this software in the legal
sector, where 'best of breed' documents
(precedents) are used as the basis for generation of further documents.
Precedent Automation systems, such as WISDOM Precedent, operate by
processing special tags that are inserted into the master documents to mark
where variable input is required and where text is optional.
WISDOM Precedent is designed to support the
generation of complex documents,
such as legal agreements, financial plans and portfolio reports. To
this end, WISDOM Precedent allows for conditional logic, document packages
and custom macros, as well as standard precedent automation
features such as variable input, optional and multiple choice text.
WISDOM Precedent records and recalls user
responses in
Answer Files,
which dramatically reduce the amount of user input required when subsequent
documents are generated for the same matter or job. WISDOM Precedent
manages its Answer Files using a .Net web service, which means that WISDOM Precedent can be run
from anywhere over the internet.
WISDOM Precedent can be customized to retrieve data from
your central databases. These
include lists managed by users in
Microsoft SharePoint®
as well as existing CRM and Client/Matter databases.
