SharePoint 2007 supports document-level security, but only for users with Design or Administrator roles — MacroView Enhanced Document Level Security allows Contributor level users to set document level security easily

  • User simply checks a Yes/No metadata field as the document is saved to SharePoint
  • MacroView Enhanced Document Level Security will remove access for all users except the current user and a nominated Author
  • Author is a Person / Group field – can be multi-valued (multiple users) or a Group
  • Checking ‘Legal Hold’ Yes/No metadata field makes document Read-Only to all but a nominated Document Managers group
