Smart
Profiling of Documents
18 November 2005
When saving a document, message or file to SharePoint would you like to be
prompted for the value of a custom column based on the value of another
custom column? For example to choose Client then select Project from a list
showing only projects for that Client. With its new ‘DMF Plus’ feature,
WISDOM Document Management Framework now
supports this type of Smart Profiling. Using WISDOM DMF Plus you can also automate
the creation of new sites and document libraries based on the values
selected by the user for profile variables and in custom forms. WISDOM DMF
Plus enables a fully customised document management environment to be built
on Microsoft SharePoint.

Documents generated with MacroView’s WISDOM Precedent
software are Smart
Documents. Whenever such documents are opened in Word 2003, a WISDOM smart
task pane is optionally displayed to facilitate last minute changes to the
document. The WISDOM smart task pane allows access to the same databases
that were used when the document was generated and records any changes in
the Answer File for the document. While the documents can be opened and

MacroView Wins 2001
Microsoft Office XP Solutions Challenge
MacroView
was selected as the NSW Winner of the
2001 Microsoft
Office XP Solutions Challenge. The winning MacroView entry was based on a Sales Management
system for use across Goodman Fielder. Goodman Fielder is Australia's
largest food manufacturer and distributor, with many of its brands being
household names.
Sales Managers in the Meadow Lea Foods
Division of Goodman Fielder area are already
using an EXCEL-based system developed by
MacroView to provide them with all relevant
information, and to capture sales forecasts. For the winning Solutions Challenge entry, MacroView moved the existing system
to EXCEL 2002, and then extended functionality significantly by making use of
SharePoint Portal Server.
As Mark Golley, Custom Services Manager for Meadow Lea Foods notes - "EXCEL
has been a good solution for Meadow Lea. Moving to EXCEL 2002 as part of Office
XP will make it even better, but the use of EXCEL and SharePoint together is a
great solution for our needs".
